This past weekend April 27 – 28 the Kirkland Lake Aquatic Club hosted the KLAC Invitational 2013 swim meet at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex. 35 stingrays participated in the swim meet taking away 72 event wins and the Club High Point Trophy. KLAC earned first place with 1250 points, Cochrane placed second with 390 points and Cochrane ended up with 230.5 points putting them in third place overall.

Highlights from the weekend include our stingrays bringing home 176 medals for our swimmers placing in the top 3 in their events and swam to 126 personal best times. Connor Wilson, Abby Adair and Mayheve Rondeau came away with all gold medals in their events over the weekend. Three of our stingrays earned the individual high point trophy’s for their respective age groups; Mayheve Rondeau (12 & under girls), Eric Forero-Visbal (13 & over boys) and Linda Ferguson (15 & over girls)

Upcoming events for our swim club include our annual sausage grind taking place this Saturday May 4th, East Side Mario’s Invitational in Sudbury May 10-12 and Fred Ram’s B-Championship meet in Timmins May 25-26 with KLAC being the defending Champions from 2012.
